I’ve been asked countless times which ingredients are the best for skin.
People always ask me to narrow it down to just a few ingredients, but you simply can't.
Skin is the body’s largest organ. It also is complex and intricate, and so requires far more than one or two great ingredients to thrive and look younger.
Your skin really needs three categories of ingredients everyday, regardless of your age or skin type. These categories are antioxidants, skin-replenishing ingredients, and skin-restoring ingredients. Each group includes dozens of ingredients that can provide amazing benefits.
But since I get asked so often, I'm going to give you my three favorite natural ingredients to help your skin look and feel better.
1) Vitamin C
This alone is such a powerful ingredient! As you age, your body makes less collagen and elastin, which keeps your skin strong, flexible, and resilient.
Using a product that contains vitamin C is extremely beneficial. Not only does it act as one of the world’s most powerful natural antioxidants, but it is also naturally anti-bacterial, aids in collagen production, helps to build the proteins that skin needs to regenerate, and stimulates blood flow. Few other ingredients can boast such a wide array of benefits.
And on top of that, it helps to minimize fine lines, wrinkles, and scars. How can you not love that!
Vitamin C doesn't just make skin look better but it helps it to be healthier so that it naturally appears brighter.
2) Aloe Vera
Most people associate aloe vera benefits with healing sunburns, but did you know that aloe also contains bacteria-fighting, soothing ingredients that fight inflammation, redness and itching?
For hundreds of years aloe has been used to treat skin diseases, infections and as a natural treatment for fungal diseases in traditional Chinese medicine.
Aloe Vera is natures miracle plant! The plant produces two substances used for medicine: the gel found in the cells in the center of the leaf, and the latex that’s obtained from the cells just beneath the leaves’ skin. These can be used as a natural skin care remedy for burns, frostbite, psoriasis and cold sores.
It holds more than 75 potentially active ingredients including anti-inflammatories, vitamins, minerals, saccharides, amino acids, fatty acids, enzymes, lignin and salicylic acids. These are what gives aloe its signature anti-microbial and antifungal properties that make it a “photodynamic therapy” for healing skin.
You simply can't go wrong with Aloe Vera!
3) Green Tea Extract
What...Tea you say? Yes...Tea it is. Tea is loaded with nutrients called polyphenols, which have been shown to fight free radicals.
Early studies have found the ingredients in tea can ease sun damage and may protect you from skin cancer when you put it on your skin. Use green tea extract under sunscreen to double the protection. The polyphenols in creams and lotions may also slow signs of aging and reduce sagging skin and wrinkles.
You will find Vitamin C in our Vitamin C Serum and Vitamin C Cream. You will find Aloe Vera in our natural Aloe Vera Gel. And you will find Green Tea Extract in our Face Moisturizer. I love these natural ingredients and know you will as well.
